Caught by the Sea

“That night I decided: Someday I would try the one great passage of the sailor’s world. Someday I would try to sail around Cape Horn.”

I envy his bravery and he follows his dream through future. A lot of people wanted to succeed their dreams, but most of them gave up on their dreams because of facing the reality: they have to make a living and take care of their family.

are you saying that taking care of one onw's family is not big of an accomplishment enough that you have to pursui a dream that can never even come to pass?

Is the first sentence of the second parragraph gramatically correct? Can you explain me what's the conection between independent clause and the other independent clause? Can you find some relation(context)between them?
